Chestnut
I love this careful study by David. When something small and simple is painted well it can engage the viewer in unexpected ways, like a piece of jewellery. The striking pattern of darks between leaves provides a distinctive setting for this gem.
Thanks John.
I’m particularly pleased with how the hard lower edge of the conker fades into a soft edge as it meets the white fleshy bit.
As you always say, not about lines but the quality of the edges.
