The Inktober challenge arrives every October: anybody who draws with ink has to post up one drawing a day throughout the month.

Subject matter is up to the artist, but for those who like to have something to respond to, a prompt sheet of words is provided, and illustrators all over the world get drawing. From the first of October a rash of ingenious visual interpretations start popping up all over social media.

Inktober 2020 In the dark days of Liverpool’s Covid Stage 3 lockdown I had to abandon our weekly drawing class. Setting myself Inktober deadlines was an antidote. I did an animal A to Z.

In other years I followed my own somewhat fantastical path (see Brexitwocky), but in 2018 I decided to use the prompt sheet and literally draw the words. Here’s a selection:
