Zoom model Molly

Liverpool Life Drawing has teamed up with Liverpool Independent Art School to run weekly life drawing sessions on Zoom.

MARIA: Here’s my zoom drawing today, Molly who we all know well.

MARIA: It’s not a good likeness, 40 mins. Kathy’s was very good, hope you’ll show it.

DAVID: Nice colours and tones

KATHY: I like those colours Maria – what are you using ? The white is particularly effective

MARIA: Thanks Kathy, your drawing is very strong and good tones. I used graphitint on brown paper, which was a bit of a washout so then used colour pencils over it. The highlights are simply white chalk. x

KATHY: Thanks Maria ! Never heard of graphitint before ? I’ll have to look it up and buy some white chalk! X

MARIA: The pencils have been around for ages, but now available in pans. Derwent make it, soluble graphite with a hint of colour. Best on white paper.
