Starring Eve

We were asked to stage a life drawing session to be filmed as part of a documentary by Jess Marsters about life modelling. It had to be outside, and the forecast was cold and wet… no problem for the model – it was Eve of course – but quite a challenge for us artists.
DAVID: It was a real treat to release those rusty 3D life drawing muscles from two dimensions. Eve worked courageously in the rain and we got lots of poses. I drew this at home last night from the originals. Why a box around her head? To hide some pencil marks but also think the hard edges contrast with the natural curves.
JOHN: Thanks so much to intrepid artists David and Kathy for turning up and making the filmed session work despite all meteorological obstacles. And yes it was great to be drawing a real life model again. Here’s a few of the 2min gesture poses drawn on soggy paper, later transcribed to ink:

…and with added colour

Now looking forward to seeing the film when it hits the big screen
