David out and about

We have done very little outside drawing this year, so I am glad whenever any of you send me work like this. I strongly believe that sitting down and drawing a place you enjoy visiting is one of the highest pleasures of being an artist. The experience is a meditation, the result is a memento.

Of course I also believe the pictures themselves should be subject to criticism, in order that future pictures can be even better mementos and higher states of meditation can be attained. So, hopefully we shall get these and other pictures up on the screen in a couple of weeks and look at the whole business of drawing outside.
